Amounts and available modifications

A set of hybridization probes consists of a pair of oligonucleotide probes which can hybridize neighbored on a DNA template, one labeled with fluorescein at its 3'-terminus [3FL] and the other labeled at its 5'-end with LightCycler^® Red dyes [5LC]. The free 3'-hydroxy group will usually be blocked with a phosphate to prevent extension by the polymerase. A gap of one to four bases (4 to 25 Å distance) between the probes is recommended.

Delivered amounts and assays

HybProbes are available in the following product amounts: 1 nmol, 3 nmol and 30 nmol. The 300 pmol scale is for evaluation of the system and is only available as a set. Other scales are available upon request. The prices include the synthesis of the oligonucleotides (30 bases). All products are purified by a multistep HPLC procedure and desalting. Delivery condition is lyophilized. Numbers of tests were calculated assuming the use of 3 pmol per assay. In routine, this amount may vary between 2 pmol (0.1 µM) and 10 pmol (0.5 µM) probe per assay.
